Finally, i found someone who's an illustration major at Uarts and is willing to talk! haha, i'm Pam from Miami, FL.. about to finish my first two years at a local community college and has dreamsof going to art school that'll have me knee deep in loans til i rot. how do you do it?! i've already been accepted to uarts, aib, ringling, moore and waiting on massart. interested mainly in illustration, design, and book arts. do you think you can tell me from your own experiences, your opinion on uarts

If those are the things you’re interested in pursuing, I think UArts would be a really great choice for you. The illustration department has the option of being in more design oriented illustration courses, and overall there is a good design focus in the department period. I’m in a traditional track but I’ve still had to take design classes. You can always take electives in graphic design and books arts, as well. I’ve never regretted my decision to go to UArts (almost went to Moore), the professors are great and almost everyone is really invested in the work they’re doing. The workload is rigorous but totally worth it when you see the growth over the few years. Also, even though Philly gets a bad rap it’s a really interesting city.

I feel like they should be paying me to speak so highly of them, haha, but seriously, definitely give UArts a close look.
